Born & raised in NYC (Brooklyn, to be more precise), I have been interested in photography since childhood when I was given a mickey mouse toy camera as a very young boy. Later purchased a film camera (Canon A`1) while in the Navy and used it to capture images while stationed in Newport, RI and then photos of my many ports-of-call while serving aboard an aircraft carrier. Acquired my first digital camera over a decade ago, and it has fueled my passion for this art. I still shoot with Canon cameras today, using the latest tools to create images of the highest quality. Through my art, I try to express a creative vision of the world as seen uniquely through my own eyes.

A scientist (PhD Molecular/Cellular Biologist) by occupation, and co-owner of several photography companies (AJ Photographic Art and Pixels and Bites Photography), I can often be seen on photo walks throughout New England where I reside just outside of Boston, MA with my lovely spouse (Amy) and daughter (Molly).
